“But the desire to “GO” never left my heart. I knew it would happen in the Lord’s timing.”
My Going Story
Hi, my name is Netty Varo, and I am excited to have the opportunity to serve on a short‑term missions trip in Bolivia. Years ago, when my daughter (now 23) was still in a car seat, a missionary from the Philippines visited our church and shared what the Lord was doing through those willing to go. He had gone in the 70s and was still faithfully serving there decades later. I was so moved by his testimony and the pictures of schools, orphanages, and lives transformed by the gospel that I was ready to go home, sell everything, and follow in his footsteps. My husband, thankfully, was the voice of reason and helped bring my emotions back down to earth — but the desire to “GO” never left my heart. I knew it would happen in the Lord’s timing.
A few years ago, while working on an assignment for one of my classes, I came across Cup of Cold Water Ministry and learned about their short‑term medical and evangelistic missions. My heart lit up immediately, but once again I sensed the Lord saying, “Not yet.”
Over this past year, that long‑held desire has grown stronger, and I’ve felt the Lord beginning to open the door. When I learned about the opportunity to serve in Bolivia — to come alongside local ministries, support medical and outreach efforts, and share the love of Christ — I knew this was the moment I had been waiting for. It feels like a fulfillment of a calling He placed on my heart so many years ago.
This trip will allow me to serve in practical ways, encourage those faithfully ministering on the ground, and be part of what God is already doing in Bolivia. I’m humbled and grateful for the chance to go.
I would be honored to have your support — especially your prayers for safety, unity, and a heart that stays sensitive to the Holy Spirit’s leading. If you feel led to partner with me financially as well, please know that every gift, no matter the size, helps make this mission possible.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for considering being part of this journey. I’m excited to see how God will use this trip and trusting Him to prepare the way.
Netty is 0% funded with $2800 left to raise as of March 7th at 3pm
“Some of the hardest to reach villages are in the country of Bolivia, settled along the tributaries of the Amazon River Basin. People wait there for medical supplies, doctors, nurses, and Gospel discipleship. They ask for teams to come, and we bring them.
